The liquids a lyophilised powder is taken up into. Bacteriostatic water carries a preservative and is the usual choice where a vial will be drawn from more than once; sterile water carries none. Acetic acid is stocked for the compounds that will not go into water alone. Every bottle is sealed and marked with its lot.
